When it comes to our vision, the old adage to eat those carrots doesn’t even come close to reflecting the power that diet has on preventing vision loss. By age 65, 1 in 9 Canadians develop irreversible vision loss and by age 75 this increases to 1 in 4. The good news is that while genetics play a role in the risk of certain eye diseases, the vast majority of the risk factors are largely influenced by environmental factors. This seminar will empower you to prevent this type of vision loss through diet, lifestyle and important Vision Wellness principles.

About the presenter:

Dr. Walker hails from Mississauga, Ontario, and has been practicing Optometry in the Okanagan for the past four years. He completed both his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees at the University of Waterloo, graduating in 2012. Dr. Walker has completed additional post-graduate training in the areas of Ocular Wellness & Nutrition as well as Vision Therapy & Neuro-Visual Rehabilitation. He is currently a member in good standing with the Ocular Wellness & Nutrition Society. These two areas are complementary to his passion for protecting and maintaining optimal visual health throughout life.
