In this talk, a range of topics related to the cause, management, and treatment of insomnia will be covered. Coming from a Chinese medicine perspective, Falko Kriel will share how Eastern concepts of the mind and body relate to our sleep cycles and how interconnected lifestyle factors such as diet, lifestyle, and mental health effect our sleep habits. We will explore practical tips and strategies that can be implemented immediately in daily life, as well as discuss the pros and cons of various medical, natural, and herbal therapies used to promote sleep.

About the presenter:

Falko Kriel is a registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, using acupuncture, herbal medicine, food therapy, cupping, tuina, moxibustion, and qigong in his practice. He is certified with NADA, the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association for mental health and substance abuse. He has experience with a variety of health conditions including: pain management, sports injuries, chronic fatigue, insomnia, women’s health, allergies, ENT disorders, and stroke rehabilitation. Falko has a special interest in restoring mental health, especially depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. In addition to his practice, Falko is the owner and head instructor of Tiger Claw Kung Fu and Tai Chi.
