We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time temporary HR Coordinator to join our HR team at the Choices Markets Head Office in Surrey, BC.
This temporary position is expected to last 18 months.
Reporting to the Head of HR, Choices Market, you will be responsible for providing HR support to office, store, and facilities team members. In this role, you will be responsible for administration duties, such as updating personnel information, benefits programs, new hire paperwork, recruitment and onboarding.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing general administrative support and responding to employee inquiries regarding vacation, payroll and other HR-related questions.
- Maintaining employee files and updating as needed.
- Creating employment letters (such as confirmations, references, etc.), as requested.
- Managing the onboarding process (including documentation) and handling forms for new and existing team members, including new hires, promotions, transfers and exits.
- Creating, posting and maintaining all recruitment postings for the banner, internally and through Indeed.
- Collaborating with the payroll team to process, review and approve bi-weekly payroll for all team members.
- Coordinating and communicating vacation entitlement and selection process annually.
- Benefits administration, including enrollment, status change, terminations and monthly audits.
- Partnering with the Occupational Health and Safety department for new training and compliance for all team members.
- Monitoring employee leaves and managing the return-to-work or job abandonment processes.
You have:
- Completed or working towards a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration or Human Resources.
- 2+ years of experience in an HR-related role.
- Experience in benefit administration is an asset.
- Completion of or working towards a CPHR designation is an asset.
- A valid driver’s licence and vehicle with the ability to travel on an as needed basis.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of payroll and benefits systems such as Avanti and Desjardins is preferred.

- A strong communicator, both written and verbal.
