Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mixing Baker to join our high-volume bakery production team. The Mixing Baker is responsible for accurately measuring, mixing, and preparing doughs and batters according to standardized recipes and production schedules. This role is critical to maintaining consistency, quality, and efficiency in a large-scale manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Doughs & Batters: Weigh and mix ingredients based on specific formulas and production requirements using commercial mixers and equipment.
  • Ensure Consistency: Monitor dough development and adjust mix times or ingredients to meet quality standards.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate, monitor, and clean industrial mixers, blending equipment, and other relevant machinery.
  • Inventory & Documentation: Accurately document ingredient usage, batch numbers, and production data. Notify supervisors of low stock or ingredient discrepancies.
  • Quality Control: Inspect ingredients and final mixes for quality, temperature, texture, and consistency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other bakery team members (scalers, proofers, oven operators) to ensure seamless production flow.
  • Food Safety & Sanitation: Follow all company food safety protocols, GMPs, and sanitation procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or inconsistencies in mix quality to the appropriate personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial or industrial baking environment, preferably with mixing operations.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed recipes and production instructions.
  • Strong understanding of baking science, dough development, and ingredient functions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, and other food safety standards is a plus.
  • Nice to have a Red Seal Certificate

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a commercial food production environment with varying temperatures (warm, cold, and humid).
  • May require weekend or holiday shifts depending on production demands.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, hairnets, and safety shoes is mandatory.
